This program is more competitive than the In House Program but less competitive than the Travel Program.
Grade levels include divisions for 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th. The practices will start in late October/early November for 5th-8th as the season kicks off in December. The 3rd/4th grade season will begin in January after the In-House fall wraps up in December.
The program is based around advancing skills development and having fun learning the game of basketball.
Teams will be formed as equally skilled as possible. Girls will be placed on teams as the number of registrations allow as there are no formal tryouts for this program. Equal playing time for all players in the program assuming regular attendance at practice and a positive attitude.
3rd-4th Grade - 7 to 9 players per team
5th-8th Grade - 7 to 10 players per team
Girls will play in our Rec Travel program as part of the Girl’s Recreational Basketball League (GRBL) against teams from other local associations - Prior Lake, Burnsville, Bloomington, Lakeville North, Lakeville South, and Victoria. Practices during the week with league games on the weekend. This league is more competitive than In House but not as competitive as Travel making it a great program for girls who enjoy playing the sport of basketball without the additional commitment or competitive environment of the Travel program.
All coaches are volunteers. Most are parents but could be a responsible adult sibling or relative. Coaches are selected through an application/interview process.
