Shot Club

The SGBA will once again offer the very successful summer Shot Club program where the girls keep track of the number of shots they make all summer with great prizes and recognition given out at the annual Jumpball Jamboree next fall.

Please click on the links below for the details of the program as it starts on May 1, 2011. 

A shooting drills kickoff is scheduled for May 5th at the Middle School with Varsity Head Coach Juan Mitchell.

3rd and 4th - 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm
5th, 6th and 7th - 6:45 pm to 7:30 pm

 There are 3 types of shot club forms listed below, a printable pdf file, an excel spreadsheet file and a word doc file so you should be able to find one that works for you to print off or track on line.

Jumpstart Clinics

August 22nd - August 25th

(Monday through Thursday)

For girls going into 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade

Dates:  8/22-8/25:  6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for 4th - 6th graders

              8/22-8/25:  7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for 6th - 8th graders

(6th graders can choose either session)

 Locations: Monday and Tuesday (8/22 & 8/23) at Junior High School

                     Wednesday and Thursday (8/24 & 8/25) at High School Main Gym

 NO COST - NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED

A special program created by the Shakopee Girls Basketball
Association with the combined efforts of the High School Girls
Basketball Program.
During the two-hour period we’ll provide each player, age and skill appropriate:

  • Shooting instruction
  • Offensive skill instruction
  • Defensive skill instruction
  • Opportunity to play basketball
  • Opportunity to use our new NOAH computer system to measure your shot arc

You should consider coming if you:

  • Want to improve your skills in preparation for Fall or Winter ball
  • Want to see if travel ball is for you
  • Plan to play on one of our travel teams this Winter

Come prepared to work up a sweat, improve your skills and have some fun.

Offensive Skills Camp & 3 on 3 league June 14 - July 28, 2011

The SGBA endorses and encourages you to enroll your daughter in Juan’s 2011 Offensive Skills Camp & 3 on 3 League for Girls.

  • Tuesday and Thursday 6/14 - 7/28
  • Grades 4th—6th: 1:00 - 2:00 PM
  • Grades 7th—9th: 2:00 - 3:00 PM
  • Grades 10th—12th: 3:00 - 4:00 PM
  • Grade levels are based on 11/12 school year
  • Fee: $65 for SGBA 4-9th grade members (SGBA is subsidizing $25 per girl member that participated in the 10/11 year.
  • Fee $90 for 10-12th grade and all non SGBA members
  • Held at Shakopee High School.  At Middle School on 7/26 & 7/28
  • Registration deadline Friday June 10

One Week Camps: Monday - Friday, June 6-10, 2011

Juan will also be offering some one week camps through the Shakopee Park and Rec program.

Ball Handling Camp - Hoopology

Hoopology is offering a Ball Handling Camp that is scheduled before the Offensive Skills Camp at Shakopee High School.  The camp is for 2011/2012 grades 4th to 9th.

Session II                12 –1 PM 

Every Tues and Thurs before the girls offensive skills camp.   

June 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30  
July 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28

The cost is $75.

Camp Description:

 

The ball handling session which will focus on become a quicker and more efficient ball handler with an emphasis on strengthening the athletes weaker hand. We have designed stationary drills, drills on the move, and drills with defenders. Repetition and competition will allow the athletes to become better throughout the summer. Sign up for session II ball handling and part of every registration will be donated to the girls basketball booster club! 

 

 Registration is due by June 1, 2011.
